For almost 30 years, I’ve been an active teacher and learner in the world of birth. I’m convinced that birth is a normal process, and that expectant parents benefit most from a class that empowers them to ask the right questions of care providers throughout the process, whether they birth at home or the hospital, with a midwife or an obstetrician, and regardless of how the birth unfolds. Pain is almost always a part of birth, but there is a difference between pain and suffering, and my class features coping skills and techniques to avoid or reduce the latter. I’m convinced that partners are vital supporters, comforters, and advocates, and this class will empower them too.
